How It Works
It takes about two minutes. Click the WhatsApp button, send us your video, and tell us what you'd like done. No forms, no callbacks, no sitting on hold. Just a straight conversation with someone who knows floors.
What to Send Us
- A walkthrough video of the floor. Walk through each room at a steady pace with the camera pointing at the floor. Let us see the surface condition, any wear, scratches, or gaps. Phone camera is fine — you don't need a ring light.
- Up the stairs, if needed. For stair sanding, walk the camera slowly up each tread. Pause on any worn nosings or damaged risers. Slow and steady gives us the detail we need.
- Close-ups of any damage. Water marks, stain patches, split boards, deep scratches — a five-second close-up tells us more than a page of description.
- Rough room size, if you know it. Even "about 4 by 5 metres" is helpful. But don't worry if you haven't measured — we can estimate from the footage.
- What finish you'd like. Lacquer, oil, a colour stain, natural? Or not sure yet? That's fine too — just tell us and we'll factor it in.
What Happens Next
One of our surveyors watches your video properly — not a glance, a proper review — and puts together an estimate based on the floor type, condition, and what you've asked for. On weekdays you'll have a price back within 24 hours. Often it's the same afternoon.
If we need to clarify anything, we'll message you back on WhatsApp. No phone tag, no chasing. If the job is straightforward, the WhatsApp estimate will be very close to the final price. For larger or more complex work we may still recommend a quick site visit, but you'll already know the ballpark before we arrive.

Tips for a Good Video
- Landscape mode. Hold the phone sideways. It gives a wider view of each room and we can see more floor in every frame.
- Walk slowly. A steady, unhurried walk is far more useful than a quick sweep. We need to pause and look at the wood.
- Show the edges. Skirting boards, doorways, and room transitions are where the tricky details are. Pan down to the edges so we can see what we're dealing with.
- Natural light helps. Open the curtains if you can. Overhead lighting creates shadows that hide surface detail.
About Our Estimates
A video estimate is not the same as measuring with a laser. But we've been looking at floors since 2004 and we can read a floor from footage. Our WhatsApp estimates typically come within 10% of the final on-site price. For straightforward sanding jobs in standard rooms, it's usually spot-on.
If there's a meaningful difference after we visit, we'll explain exactly why before any work starts. No surprises.
